Periyar University: Periyar
University is a university in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established by
the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1997. It is named after social reformer
Thanthai Periyar E. V. Ramasamy. The University Grants Commissions, New Delhi
bestowed 2f status in 1998 and 12(B) status in 2005 to the university. It is
accredited by NAAC with 'A' grade.

Periyar University Jobs Eligibility
Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
i. Good
academic record with at least 55% of the marks (or an equivalent grade in a
point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s degree level
in a relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a
foreign University. ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the
candidate should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by
the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. iii. Holders
of Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject shall be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
iv. A
relaxation of 5% marks will be provided at the Master’s level for the
SC/ST/Differently abled.
v. A
relaxation of 5%, from 55% to 50% of the marks will be provided to the Ph.D.
degree holders, who have passed their Master’s degree prior to 19th September,
1991.
1.
Textiles & Apparel Design:
i) Master’s
Degree in Textiles and Apparel Design/Textiles and Clothing/Costume Design and
Fashion/Textiles and Fashion Designing/Textile Science and Fashion Designing
with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system
is followed)
(ii) A pass
in UGC NET/SLET/SET in the relevant discipline. (OR)
Candidates,
who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in Textiles and Apparel Design/Textiles
and Clothing/Costume Design and Fashion/Textiles and Fashion Designing/Textile
Science and Fashion Designing or relevant discipline in accordance with
University Grants Commission Regulation 2009, shall be exempted from
NET/SLET/SET.

Food Science and Nutrition:
(i) Master’s Degree in
Food Science and Nutrition/Food Science and Technology/ Food and Nutrition with
55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is
followed)
(ii) A pass in CSIR/UGC
NET/SLET/SET in the relevant discipline. (OR) Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree
in Food Science and Nutrition/Food Science and Technology /Food and Nutrition
or relevant discipline in accordance with University Grants Commission
Regulation 2009.
